  • 🍭 Cotton candy was invented in 1897 by dentist William J. Morrison and candy maker John C. Wharton.

    ✨ It was originally called "Fairy Floss" before the name "cotton candy" became popular.

    🎡 The fluffy treat became a carnival icon after debuting at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, where more than 68,000 boxes were sold.
